Squid Game season 3 is nearly here, and we only had to wait six months for new episodes. Considering the three years fans had to wait for season 2 of Netflix’s global hit series to arrive, this is reason enough to celebrate.
Well, get ready, the final games are about to begin.
The second season of Squid Game ended on a cliffhanger, leaving the futures of Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) and the rest of the players hanging in the balance. One has to assume Player 456 will get out of all this alive. Still, the emotional stakes writer-director Hwang Dong-hyuk has brought to the series leave the possibility open that anyone, including Gi-hun, could die at any moment.
Considering that season 3 is the final season, you have to expect answers to big questions like: Will Gi-hun have his revenge against the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun)? Can Jun-ho find the island and bring these criminals to justice?
Rounding out the cast for these final episodes are Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Wi Ha-joon, Park Gyu-young, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-shim, Jo Yu-ri, Lee David and Roh Jae-won. Hwang, who made history at the 74th Primetime Emmys, as the first Asian to win the award for Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series, is back as director, writer and producer for these new episodes.
